Pandemic Poem #2 / Yarning

In times of crisis we turn to what’s most important – connection, stories, and the comfort of home.

How are you doing today?

Yarning
We never stop yearning for connection.
The need to be heard is the essence of being human
Our voices being relegated to echoes
Lost in the void between me and you
Created by government mandated distance
Is a fate worse than death.
Every one of us who reaches out with words and speeches
Is threading a stitch into a communal warm and fuzzy.
We are sewing hope into our hearts,
Yarning is keeping us alive.
