13 moons – Honour a woman

The 13 Moons Collective is a group of 13 Ballarat women artists exhibiting artworks that reference women they know, admire or have lost in our lives. The collective is made up of a diverse range of women and their works incorporate a diverse range of media, styles and expression. The number 13, mysterious and magical, represents the number of lunar cycles in a calendar year and every woman’s year.

The collective also supports the movement Honour a Woman that works to increase gender equality on Australian honour rolls. The exhibition was opened by Dr Niki Vincent. Dr Vincent is Victoria’s first Commissioner for Gender Equality in the Public Sector.
