Pandemic Poem #21 / Goodbye

A poem about memories, boundaries and how far I’ve come.

Goodbye
An old lover’s voice on the line
I could hear his smile
Heartwarming
Like the smell of freshly baked bread
I felt a smile playing across my face
I imagined the way he once embraced me
And longed for that again
But instead
I said
Goodbye
